** VIDEO ** Let's Play Two

Too much to fit into one video, so "let's play two".

Topics include keeping April and the blog in perspective, staying focused & motivated, shutting out potentially harmful industry press & noise, the importance of being an individual, the loneliness of trading, recent requests to resurrect formal teaching (no) & writing a book (no), a quick health update, and an update on the upcoming live get-together.

At the risk of stating the obvious, start with the top one. And perhaps grab a cup of coffee.

Enjoy.

Ah the Cape, late June, what can I bring?

As a sporatic, seemingly profitable and hopefully evolving trader, I am hoping a lobster roll, a beer and some good ole quality bro-time with you with my toes in sand can sharpen my game. if not, i'll just start with a marg then.

Hey Don, thanks for poring it out on the web. I like that your are putting yourself out there and taming & riding the short time waves of the ES...Sweet & inspiring! take care.

-Hawk!

Ps, I too have a couple of vert that pitch and well-- more situps and crunches than you can stand and some Palates for the posture, and if that doesnt work, then back to the margs...

Don, re: "I don't care what people think about my blog/diary"...well I happen to like your blog/diary, and I don't care that you don't care that I like it!

On a more serious note, I was just wondering what you think about the affect of continual, long-term viewing of PC monitors on our eyes?
I was just talking to a software engineer friend of mine and he is adamant that it has been detrimental to his vision...

any opinion Don?

Don, love the blog format, especially with the videos. (And it's way less stressful than writing a book!)

You said that people hate you?

That's funny... you seem like such a nice guy. Post on your own blog. Trade your own method. Pretty much mind your own business. Why would they hate you?

Don, you should see the hate directed at me!! I get banned just because I am TheRumpledOne. I don't even have to break any rules and forum admins toss me.

Keep up the good work!

Rumpled -

Well, let's just say I've been very outspoken over the years on the topics of smoke and mirrors, excessive marketing hype, false gurus and analysts who don't trade or release their records, etc.

That, along with some losing traders who need to point their finger at anyone but themselves, makes me an easy target in some corners.

Doesn't bother me in the least though ... and frankly, it's more amusing than anything.

Thanks Hawk ... wine seems to work well too.

Charles - My eyesight starting going downhill the year PCs came out in the early 80s. I have to believe today's monitors are easier on the eyes than those old monochrome boxes, but who knows.

Now where are my glasses?

Cats-I hear ya.
Is that window in the background the only one in your trading room?

Back/neck pain ideas:
beestings
Capsaicin-binds with pain neurotransmitter
Inversion therapy-I got one, good on low back.
Rolfing-myofascial release massage
Alexander technique
Feldenkrais method

I no longer visit the now commercial alphatrends site...

Personally, I find this blog more useful than any book or course. Daily witnessing how you handle the ups & downs, struggles & triumphs is priceless. While most people are chasing methodologies (the basis of trading books), experienced traders know that 90% of the battle is in-between the ears. I find your daily blog, and especially the videos, keep that fact front and center better than any book.
(Although, should you ever decide to publish, I would be one of the first in line.)

Don, As a newcomer to your blog, I just want to say thank you for what you are doing and how you are doing it. I've spent a lot of time reading and listening to the entire journal. Your genuiness and helpful spirit shows. I'm not a day trader but wish to learn more about it and maybe try it someday. I'm mainly trying to get a better understanding of day trading in order to understand what my son is doing as a day trader - so we can communicate better about this topic. I am a pastor and chaplain and will keep you and your family in my prayers. Maybe some desk yoga would help your neck relax as you sit for hours trading - just a thought. Have a blessed day in the Lord, Bruce
